The Nikon SD-9 Battery Pack is used to greatly increase the number of flash firings of the SB-900 and SB-910 Speedlights, and also shortens the recycling time. It has a total capacity to hold 8 AA batteries, but can also be used with just 4 batteries. It can be used with any type AA battery, but provides the fastest recycling time when used with 4 quality AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

Total minimum flash recycling time can be as fast as 1.0 seconds when used with AA Ni-MH batteries, and the capacity per round of batteries is about doubled. Batteries must be in place in the flash in order to operate.

Featuring an LED video light and a compact design, the SB-500 AF Speedlight from Nikon provides users with a portable unit for use specifically with Nikon's i-TTL metering system. The flash has good power with a guide number of 79' at ISO 100 and while no direct manual adjustments are available the output can be tuned via the camera's flash exposure compensation settings. The unit offers wide coverage for a 24mm lens with FX-format full-frame cameras and the 100 lux LED light has quarter, half or full power output levels, which is beneficial for both video and close up still photography.

This flash has the ability to tilt upward 90° and rotate left and right 180° for bounce and swivel capabilities. Other features include slow, Auto FP high-speed, 1st, and 2nd curtain synchronization. The SB-500 will also transmit LED and flash color information to the camera for setting an optimal white balance and runs on 2 AA batteries, which provide a recycle time as fast as 3.5 seconds.

The flash is compatible with the i-TTL system for automatic metering with both FX- and DX-format cameras and is optimized for use with Nikon's Creative Lighting System for complete control over your lighting setup. Additionally, the auto zoom head has a coverage range of 24-120mm with FX-format cameras which can be extended down to 12mm with the use of the built-in wide-angle diffusion panel.

Complete bounce and swivel functionality is available for working in a variety of shooting situations. Also, the SB-700 has three different illumination patterns, standard, even, and center-weighted, which help shape the light output for your specific needs.
